[PLUGIN] Shoutcast/IceCast Encoder
« on: December 03, 2012, 06:35:40 AM »
Did anyone tried bassenc.dll?
Yesterday i put together a test plugin and seems to work just fine.
Ignore the look of the plugin, is just a test  :D

Hi Marius,
an embedded encoder like this with remote control through web commands, like the Server function of RDJ is exactly what I need to enable me to switch from my current playout software completely to RDJ for our Server, running unattended while no DJ is on-AIR.

The software I'm using is also utilizing Bass_Enc.dll for shoutcast streaming.

If you plan to spend more development time on this, I would really appreciate if you could implement all (or most) the features my current playout systems encoder also provide.

Just let me know and I can specify more detailed.
This is probably worth to start in a new thread.

Best Regards
Malte

Yeah, that's what I ran into also. The 1.1 has a patch for multi-cpu machines that seemed to help, but didn't fix it, at least on mine. I was thinking about dropping bass.dll entirely for a dsound wrapper that looks promising, but life keeps getting in the way.  ::)

I'll upload it to my server and PM you the link.

I'm working on a plugin, but if you've already got something that encodes, I'd love to see it. It would save me some time! LOL  :D

Edit

I think I see what you did. Your encoder is hosting the shoutcast plugin, right?

No, it uses only bassenc which can work with many formats:

Quote
An extension that allows BASS channels to be encoded using command-line encoders with STDIN support (LAME/OGGENC/etc), or ACM codecs (on Windows) or CoreAudio codecs (on OSX/iOS). Also features streaming of encoded data to clients directly or via Shoutcast and Icecast servers, and PCM/WAV file writing. C/C++, Delphi, and Visual Basic APIs are included.

Give me a day or two to put it together and i will send you the source.

THANKS!  :ok:  :ok: :ok:

I downloaded BASSenc and it looks great. I got the opus one too (been asked about it before).

This coding in dot net isn't as hard as I thought it would be. Thanks for helping me learn it. :)

You should ideally upgrade to the latest beta 1.6.4.0 and use the 1.5 encoder plugin from this topic. http://www.radiodj.ro/community/index.php?topic=3289.0
