Album Art Downloader Utility [Not a plugin]
« on: May 14, 2013, 08:46:42 PM »
I wrote this program to see if it works and maybe some rdj users would find it useful. The program itself is using the command line version of Album Art Downloader.

What it does?
- It searches the RadioDJ database for music type files which have the album field completed, searches and downloads album art image files if found;
- If a image is found, is copied to your Artwork folder (set in rdj options)
- It updates the database with the found images.

How to install it?
1. Download and install Album Art Downloader to Program Files from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/album-art/
2. Copy AlbumArt.exe in your RadioDJ folder.
3. Make sure that you enabled album art support in RadioDJ and you've set a valid path.
4. Run AlbumArt.exe and wait to finish to download.

Tried it and so far it's not doing what it should. Keeps finding the wrong artwork for half the album tags it has already scanned.

Fat eddies band (Whoever they are?) when it should have been Abba - Abba Gold. I guess it's going to need a lot more work by the developers!

Doing a scan now.  I've got a lot of indie artists so it's taking a while for those but a great feature.

No Fat Eddies Band yet  :hihi:

Hum, does it exist a solution to found album art from title and artist?

I have 4200 songs and I just have artist and tittle...

It appears that the Album Art plugin has disappeared from the latest version. Is there a way to stream album art?

I have been trying this on the 1.7.0 release. I finally got it to find SOME artwork in my FLAC files, but not all. All my singles have a labelscan of the 45 it was ripped from. I almost always resize then as close to 700x700 as I can, but sometimes, I forget. Is there perhaps a max size of either the image or file AlbumArt will locate?

It might not have grabbed it for all of them. Is there any images in the folder?

Have you AlbumArtDownloaderXUI-1_01.exe installed from sourceforge.net?

Last version is AlbumArtDownloaderXUI-1.02.exe on sourceforge.net.
