RDJ1.7.0 with mysql5.5.24 keeps failing

Hi all

Had rdj running 1.6.57  8?   with 5.1 mysql  fine  awsome for months no problems

but now i took out  rdj  reinstalled  1.7.0   and nothing

so i formatted pc win 7 all updated fully  started to install  all pres for  some encoder  1.7.0 mysql 5.5.24  newest database exe
database just wont connect  try  a full reinstall win 7  3 times just incase i got somit wrong

i just keep  reading ins  and doing it  as i always have but  it wont have it
but  right now im going to reinstall 1657  and  older mysql    for tonight see  if things are ok   and its  not me

Do you you have Radiodj already installed in a folder?

Are you installing Radiodj170 in a new folder on c:\ like  c:\Radiodj170 ?

Have you got the some encoder Encoder Plug in?

Have you installed one of the MySQL databases?

If so, is it running?

Just a few to start so we can see where you are

windows7 ultimate fully updated with c++2003  2010

some encoder 2.1 not install yet standalone
mysql made new users but apon clicking  user  no info
i use mysql admin    and workbench  seperate  database cant connect to  mysql  with details yet  workbench says its running 
im using root   and  radiodj databases  neither will connect  from mysql to  database setup 

i had  1657 working a treat  for  many months  just updated  and got this big problem 
ive just tried adding  users via client  i can create but not add grant  on all  fails
ive used  5.6  5.524  and lates  all with  new win 7 install 


theres only so much hair i can pull out  hehe

Not sure I am not sure I am the one to help.. however, I have found it is best to separate each element as usually it in only one thing not several.

If it is the db your having troubles with maybe best to set up MySQL again and start afresh there.  I have just started to use a new database called mini_server_11 which was mentioned on the forums the last couple of days. It was dead easy to setup. Once that done used the RDJ Database.exe.

There is also talk about another one called MariaDB which they all say is also very easy to setup.

Maybe a fresh start is the way to go.

Good luck.. keep reporting you progress as I am sure you will get help. They are great here. You may have to wait because of time zones but it is worth it.

Formatting and reinstalling windows is a bit extreme - There is rarely a need for that.


Which database and version are you trying to install?

Same here.... fresh installed everyting.....

unticked use ID3 cue data and autofades..... now it works.... for now.... got 75000 songs to do

edit..... no luck... even with mariadb...

win 7, 64 bit, 8 core xeon and 6 gb ram...

i have  installed userver  and all is well although  very slow loading songs in db

Thanks nonstopgospel   i have used  the  info  off site

seems all ok when installed untill i go to use  root  or add  users i can make them  but click on  it  and errors  details not found may have been deleted  and refs to (uth ? )  but ive always used latin1

it wont beet me  just a little set back

Right  i have  mysql5.6 installed all ok  with workbench
workbench  wont allow me to  add db
if i use client  theres an error  if i use  client to add user

i log in as root  in client then add  mysql -u root -p -h 127.0.0.1 -P 3306  password
error comes up

error 1064  42000  you have an error in your syntax; check the manual  which i did  and it says  same as ive typed

Ah one thought it was working ...BUT  it was infact  userver i forgot  it was still running

Is there a mod  who could  take a quick look at  mysql, and see why my Database setup dont want to  work ?

i have team view  but more puzzled as why  its not doing as its spose  to

uk BST zone i really need a fast  mysql  and massive  record collection to add

Problem sorted   i used mariadb but forgot to add  :port  on end as it was different
