Now playing info

Hello everyone,

I have a question. I've spent the last week with the now playing info plugin that comes  to get The Artist and Title  send to my shoutcast server.    unfortunately without success. I've searched the forum been looking around but could not find anything. you have any idea how to do this?

Are you using the some encoder plugin or something else to encode with?

If you are using a standalone encoder just point the now playing info plugin to the NowPlaying.txt on the C:\ drive and that should auto generate the title for you.

then point the encoding software to the .txt file.

If you are using the some encoder plugin have you enabled the box that say "Auto title"?

I export it to the Nowplay.txt in my documents. I pressed my encoder states that he should use for what is playing.  but nothing happens. there is no title and artist get up in the nowplay.txt

Have you made sure the NowPlaying.txt has all the correct Read/Write permissions?

Right click on the NowPlaying.txt and click >properties>security tab> click on "edit" to apply full permissions

Delete the current NowPlaying.txt and make a blank text file with the name NowPlaying.txt & try pointing the now playing plugin to that fresh file.

See if that makes a difference if not I'm clean out of ideas.

There is not need to create a new one, the program will generate it if it doesn't exist.
If it doesn't generate it, it means that the program doesn't have necessary permission, which also explain why it can write to the existing one.
Where is located RadioDJ folder?

Make sure your now playing script location is not c:\NowPlaying.txt. On Windows 7 it won't write to the root. Set the location in RDJ to something like C:\Radiodj\NowPlaying.txt

I run RDJ on Win7 & have the NowPlaying.txt on the C:\ drive and it works just fine as Marius said it could just be a program permission issue not working somewhere.

Ok, we are close. So, the txt file is containing the playing track artist and title, but the encoder doesn't recognize it. Did you played with the text encoding setting? Try computer default or UTF8. After changing the encoding skip the playing track to update again the txt file too see the result.
