Save waveform data with file
« on: July 24, 2014, 09:40:47 PM »
I've been noticing lately additional files in my library with the .wfrm extension. When opening in a text file, they are mainly unreadable.  Then I saw this new check box in Cue Editor that says "Save waveform data with the audio file".

I found the description in changes for v1.6.5.8RC5:
- Added the option to save the waveform and use it next time you open cue editor (if the file is found will be loaded automatically.)

I'm trying to get my head around these additional waveform files and if I need them.  What information do they contain above and beyond what we already see in Cue Editor?  Thanks for any elaboration.

If you edit your files very often (especially large ones), it will help you because once the waveform is generated, it will be available for future uses, so you will not have to wait every time you open the cue editor. On the other hand, it requires some space, not too much (less than the actual audio file).
