Voice Tracks Longer Than Song Intros
« on: September 23, 2014, 02:07:20 AM »
Hi All,

Thank you to everyone for your continued support on this forum.

I recently launched my new station running completely from RadioDJ and couldn't be happier. One thing I am a bit confused with is being able to play voice tracks that are longer than the intro of a song. I've tried to experiment, but I must be doing something wrong. Basically, I have calls recorded from our request line and I want to play them back on air. The calls are about 10 seconds longer than the intro of most songs, but I'm not sure how to set RadioDJ up properly so the voice track plays a bit prior to the song's start, then start the song when there is just enough time to finish the voice track. I am capable of changing the file type or anything needed to fix this. Maybe something in the way of cue points? I don't really want to have to change the cue points of the voice track if I don't have to. I'd really appreciate it if someone could give me a hand.

Thank you!

I don't think RadioDJ can do this (yet). What I have done to make this work is:

- Create a random track, call it: voicetrack.mp3
- Import it into RadioDJ and make it a Variable Duration File
- Record your phonecall and save it into the voicetrack.mp3-file
- Load the voicetrack into AUX Player 1
- When you're ready to play the voicetrack, PLAY
- Keep an eye on the Time Remaining of the voicetrack and as soon as you see the Time Remaining is the same as the introtime of your next track in the queue, play the track.

This almost always works perfectly for me, although you'll have to manually keep an eye out to time this.

Hope this helps.
