Hi Folks,

Can you help?. :)

When I import a directory into RadioDJ whatever I do I cant tell the cue points (the Start and End) to not come in with the file ( ie I don't want them) Clearly Radio DJ does this and I guess its the way it works, but its not all that good. I hate the way it mixes tracks together at the end and its ruining my late night cool jazz that needs a good one second pause between tracks, not to mention my commercials that all mix together and get chopped off at the ends >:(

I have 200 commercials that radio DJ chops off the end of them and mixes them which sound awful.  :o

Can I import directorys without this happening? If I uncheck the boxes "Autofades and "Use id3 data" these seem to have no effect.

I'm using Auto DJ by the way.

I am tired of editing the cue points for all these commercials in the track edit mode which solves the problem BTW, but this is a real pain. Can anyone help, I have read through the DJ Jhonny tutorials but can seem to find an answer.

Hello -18db

Under Options > Options > Settings > Auto DJ, scroll to the bottom and deactivate the Silence Remover.  This will stop RadioDJ from placing the Fade and Next Start markers.

Hope this does it for you.   :)

Thanks for the info,

I have never had this checkbox activated ever, (first thing I turned off!) Still not removing or setting the markers to the end of the file on import!

I have all my autofades, silence removers etc set to 0, or deactivated.

help!

If the Silence Remover is deactivated BEFORE you import the track, it will put the Fade and Next markers at the end.  It has every time for me.  It will not remove it from the tracks that have already been imported.

Hi,

Yes tried that, silence remover unticked, imported 2 files to test, markers on both, one start about almost a quarter the way before the end and one(end) about 2 seconds before the end!

Start Mix and End threshold set to:
0
0
-100

????????? :'(

Set

See what that does for you.   :)

If you untick the silence remover those values will be ignored. Rather than disabling completely the silence remover, i suggest you to play with those values.
Open a file in track import, go to cue editor and set different values until you get the desired result, set them as default and only after that import the rest of the files.
I also suggest you to disable the "USE ID3 cue data" in folder import.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the help, Now I understand how the cue editor works and how tracks are brought in and given the markers based on the audio levels you want the programme to read.

My setting with the silence remover on (tickbox in autoDJ) settings are now :

Start 0
Mix -65
End -70

This seems to work, so I have made these my default cue editor settings.

Many Thanks Folks!

This topic is still relevant for me as a new user.    I've followed this advice... Unchecked Auto Fades, set Start to "0", Mix to "-65" and End to "-70"... reimported all my categories.. and songs still get cut off at the end in Assist Mode or the segue is too tight in Automation mode.   Does anyone have a definitive answer to this issue?   I want the songs to play out completely in Assist Mode, or with a short silence between tracks (if in Automated mode).
