For those of you using VoiceMeeter Banana ( A great donationware virtual Mixer) with our favourite Radio Automation Software, RadioDJ will be happy to know that it's out of beta with a manual too!

I'm loving the fact that it works so well with RadioDJ and grabbing your mic and other sound sources.

Voicemeeter Banana a great addition to the RadioDJ toolbox has a new update - version 2.0.1.1 which fixes some issues

Latest update requires an uninstall/reboot/install updated version/reboot to complete if you already have it in your system.

http://vincent.burel.free.fr/VirtualAud ... _v2011.zip

Corrections and new functions:
-PLAYER / RECORDER: removes various bugs (potential transport inconsistency and possible buffer repetition every period of 5 to 20 min... possible freeze).
-MME devices could not work on banana because 24 bits format negotiation is not really possible with MME interface.
-Better Sleep / StandBy / WakeUp management.
-Settings are now stored correctly on Windows Shutdown.
-PLAYER: pushing STOP goes to ZERO
-Add F5,F6 and F8 keys to Start Stop and Record
-Add ASIO Input Patch under Output Device A1 in the system settings dialog box, to route ASIO input into physical input strips.

Cool but the URL is wrong.
Correct URL is http://vincent.burel.free.fr/VirtualAudioApps/VoicemeeterSetup_v2011.zip

I'm currently using Voicemeeter Banana 2.0.0.8 and sometimes its CPU usage jumps and stays at 70% when audio input stops. Besides that, it is using about 8% of CPU when hidden to tray and about 10% if window is open.

I'll try the new version to see if that's fixed.

Thanks for correcting the link Andy  The only thing I've noticed in the update is that  The Cassette Recorder/Player stuttered on first use, but after an engine restart all was good.  What a fun combo with RadioDJ and the possibilities.

Testing RadioDJ version 1.8.0 on a test box with Voicemeeter Banana and what a treat.

In case you are wondering how I've set it up.  It's from left to right   A1 A2 A3 B1 B2  (renamed)

Main mixer output with Mic and other potential sources (You could use a usb mic here as well) then it's followed by (2) Virtual Cables, one for the RadioDJ Monitor/Cue, followed by Telos (Skype or GoogleTalk) Those are the hardware bits.

I have the desktop normal stuff going thru Voicemeeters Virtual Input and the VoiceMeeter AUX is where the main RadioDJ Output, Carts, Aux etc goes directly to B2 which is the output picked up by a standalone encoder.  RadioDJ's Monitor goes to A2 and I can Monitor from the main's I use A1 for everything.  Only B2 goes to On Air so I can do other things while RadioDJ does it's magic.

There are many ways to set things up but this is what works for me.

Edit:  Oh, and I'm using the built in Cassette recorder as a Logger

Cheers

I hear you on that.  I use a mixer though in A1 so I can use the mic, or other sources piped in as well or other work not related to Radio DJ ;) through B1.

There is a new Beta of VoiceMeeter Banana v2.0.2.0 version with VBAN  (VB Audio Network) That can bring in and send out Audio Streams

If you are following their facebook page you can follow it's progress.    I'll be testing it out over the weekend to see if I can send RadioDJ Stream out and bring other streaming sources back in.    Note: This is only for folks that are familiar with this virtual software in combination with RadioDJ.

Addendum:  Looks like it's great for streaming full blown audio, great for inhouse distribution though.

Cheers

There is a newer version of Voicemeeter Banana for Win 7, Win 8.1 and Win 10 that fixes some issues with some new features added as well.  Perfect match for RadioDJ usage.   Remember to Uninstall earlier versions first - Reboot - Install new Version - Then Reboot and you're good to go.

Hi,

There are a number of ways to setup the virtual mixer for using RadioDJ as a playout, with Mic, Skype (for phoners etc) but I'm not sure about XP as I've only used it on Win7 and now Win10 BUT IT SUPPORTS XP .  I mentioned earlier in this thread how I use it with RadioDJ, but there are many ways to set it up for your custom use.  It's donation ware if you like it and it fits for my use with RadioDJ.  There are diagrams of various ways to set it up as well as a PDF Manual available in their link below.

With the VoiceMeeter comes a VB Audio Virtual cable.  Now let me go though what I did so if I am doing wrong then you know the what I have done.

Using windows xp.

1. Download the program and got it running.
2. start Voicemeeter banna.
3. Hardware input one left click and set to mme realtek ac97 Audio
4. On Control panel Sounds and audio devices set sound playback and sound record to Voicemeeter Aux vaio, device volume to low 2nd line,

Now I can see Hardware 1 box working as the boxes are coming up with colour boxes, Virtual inputs have noting, and on master area a1 and b1 are showing colour.  Now I can not pass the audio to radio DJ so I need to set the cable with it.  Anyone now how to make it work.

Vanlen

Okay, lets go through the steps in order.

QuoteUsing windows xp.  ( or Win7 or 10)

1. Download the program and got it running.
1. Download Voicemeeter Banana and install and then after it's installed REBOOT.

NEXT IN ORDER

2.  On Control Panel Sounds and audio devices set sound playback and sound record Voicemeeter INPUT VAIO and make them default.  So they are now your default Virtual Audio device through the PC replacing your Realtek as the default device.

3.  On the left side of VB are  3 HARDWARE INPUTS 1,2,3. They are used for say an external Microphone, Mixer other hardware or external sources etc.
4.On the Far Right are A1 A2 etc.Hardware OUT.
Those are your Monitoring options.  So in your Case A1 is your Realtek ac97  for speaker playback through A1.  If you have another soundcard then put that in A2 Output. But we won't discuss that here.   Usually it's just A1 Hardware OUT So you can hear everything selected from the left Inputs and the VB Input and Aux Inputs  through your speakers if the A1 channel is highlited.  So if you select A1 on each strip when you play something you hear it through your PC. Or send audio to A2, B1, B2 etc for other purposes.  More on that below.

5.  Now from the menu select Run at startup and then hit save settings.

So now everything you had before like Youtube, Windows Sounds playing Windows Media Player etc will come through VB VAIO Strip and heard through A1 Monitor.

6.  Now run RadioDJ and open up options and select your main playback, cart, and aux players as VB AUX ( which is the second virtual strip on Voicemeeter Banana.  You can set your Monitor to another soundcard or VB VAIO if you like.    (This is just to get you started and you can customize it later).  Now save those settings and exit RadioDJ and then reload so the those settings take.

7. Play some music from RadioDJ and then from Voicemeeter Banana on your AUX Strip make sure A1 is on so you can here the feed through your speakers.   Now if you use say B1 or B2 you are taking the output of that and can send this anywhere.  To a standalone decoder for instance to stream.

Hope this helps in just getting you started in a simple setup.

Ok the program is running and I can hear my voice though the headset which has a mic and it is going though the mixer.  I pressed input on radio DJ to talk and I had no voice when I listen to my station.

Here are the setting starting with Voice meeter Banana.

Mic area (Input1) working as colour is coming though and moving. (mic set to Realtak AC97)
Input 2 and 3 no colour showing.
Hardware out A1 and B1 show colour.  Master Normal mode on all areas.

Radio DJ Options, options, all areas on on Sound card settings are Voicemeeter Aux vaio front speakers
Audio input Voice meeter aux vaio and on right of that is says Voicemeeter Aux out.

Windows xp sound card set to Voicemeeter Aux vaio.

This was stopping windows xp.

I change the sound card area to Voicemeeter vaio on audio and voice,

Set Hardware 1 to Ks Realtak AC97 and hardware out to ks realtak ac97,  I can hear my voice on mixer.

Open radio dj went to options, options, Sound card settings on Voicemeeter and front speakers, audio input set at Voicemeeter vaio.

Still no mic being sent to radio station web page.  Can the mic really go out as well.

Help me please.

David.

QuoteI pressed input on radio DJ to talk

Ahh.  Okay, the Input Button of radioDJ is NOT FOR NORMAL MICROPHONE USE. (Just do a forum search on that one)

On your set up you are playing out RadioDJ through VoiceMeeter as a virtual mixer right?  Either way If your Microphone,  RadioDJ are running through your Mixer and then the Mixer OUTPUT goes into your Streaming Encoder.   Example if you have a Microphone going through Input A1 via RealTek and RadioDJ coming thru your VIRTUAL AUX you can hear them with your MONITOR A1 as Speakers if you have A1 on your strip selected but then you have to set up on the Mic Strip   B1 or B2 and RadioDJ going through B1 or B2 as well and then using an external STANDALONE Encoder that can pick up the input of either  B1 or B2    B1 is the Virtual VAIO and B2 is the Virtual AUX.  That way if you disabled A1 (On the Inputs) but still have B1 or B2 active then you won't hear them through your speakers BUT it will still be picked up by your streaming encoder.

That's about as clear as I can make it from your descriptions and hope it it guides you in the right direction
