Showing Album Art from TuneIn.com on website
« on: March 29, 2015, 11:30:32 PM »
OK now that I have the API for TuneIn running nicely now thanks to Andy. I wonder if there is a way to have the album art that is showing on TuneIn show on my site. I would also like to use their player as well but that is for another day. I would like to somehow maybe merge it with or use it with the WP Plugin. I think having this would be really cool for website users.

Most answers are one short search away. All you have to do is click share button on your TuneIn page and copy the embed link.

Here is the HTML code for The Asylum:
Code: [Select]
<iframe src="http://tunein.com/embed/player/s143925/" style="width:100%;height:100px;" scrolling="no" frameborder="no"></iframe>
Unfortunately, there are no customisation options apart from width and maybe height of the player.

Wow I am getting old. Yikes. :ok: Now just to figure out a way to customize it so it sorta matches the site and not like a huge plug.

TuneIn doesn't provide any documentation about customising the embed code. There is also no way to change its appearance because it is an iframe and you can't apply CSS styles in an iframe.
Simplest way to add the embed to WordPress site is by inserting it in a custom text widget. If you want to display it in site header and your WordPress theme doesn't have header widgets, you'll have to insert the code in theme's header.php file.

Yah but so far I would like to have it be compact or somehow work in a pop out page. I guess I will have to play with the page and set it up somehow to look more pro. That is all I got. I will just have to plan it out.

Joshua, you can try it

//ON THE HEAD SECTION

<script type="text/javascript">
function OnAir() {
window.open( "YOUR PLAYER URL ADDRESS", "myWindow", "status = 1, height = 345, width = 515, top = 0, left = 0, resizable = 0" )
}
</script>

//ANYWHERE ON YOUR PAGE THAT YOU WISH LINK THE PLAYER WITH AN IMAGE AS "LISTEN LIVE NOW"

<div id="cc_tunein">
   <a onClick="OnAir()"><img align="absmiddle" src="image.png" alt="Flash" width="48" height="48" border="0" title="ASYLUM LIVE STREAMING" /></a>

It's work for me. Hope it will help you

That just puts it into a new window. Yah it is nice and all, but I want to use the player on my site like it is now. Just wish there was a way to customize it so it fits into the template. Also where I have the listen live button for some reason it will not take the a href in there. Which is a bummer but not a big deal. I will just put it onto a page locally and send it off to the pop up.
