[solved] Missing sweepers

Hi,

I'm encountering 2 issues and also need to be sure of an option meaning.

1- I have a rotation with 27 elements (tracks, jingles),
when  the rotation loaded (for exemple clicking the "clear" button),
45 elements are inserted in the playlist !
(and only the first 22 / 25 elements respects the rotation)

2- I have a unique "tag line" sweeper that is associated to a category.
(Of course, this sweeper subcat is the currently selected one)
When tracks from that category are inserted by the rotation,
sweepers are randomly skipped.
For the same track, once the sweeper is ok, once it is not inserted...
(sweeper is well associated to those tracks, sweeper is set to "intro" in rotation, and of course, an intro position is set for those tracks...)

Question - "Reset subcategories" option means that if a subcat can't fit the rules, a track will be chosen anyway instead of having this subcat skipped, right ?

Infos:
RDJ 1.8.1 Win 7 x64

Rules:
Same track: 60 minutes
Same artist: 4 minutes (during test)

Marius, could you please give me your opinion about that ?  :-\

I have tried that:
- delete rotation
- (re)make rotation

Auto DJ is on, mode is assisted, I click "clear" and confirm
the rotation is successfully loaded ! (27 elements)

Then, I switch mode to auto, RDJ starts to play,
and hop, the playlist has 50 elements inside  :-[

If after "clear" I stay in assisted mode and manualy launch the first track in playlist,
the same issue happens, more tracks are added to the playlist  :'(

For the 2nd issue, after I restart RDJ this is no longer happenig randomly.
Always the same tracks don't load the sweeper.
In the track manager, those tracks shows intro as 00:00:00
while in cue editor and in mysql the intro is correctly set !

Will it help, if a click on UTILITIES and cilck on relocate tracks?

PS. Not sure if it helps
Currently on
RDJ V 2.0.4.8
MariaDB V 10.6.21
WIN 11 PRO

Thank you so much for trying to help me.
I have just tried right now and unfortunately that didn't change.  :(

I have read in the manual that RDJ is supposed to load the rotation again since there is less than 3 tracks in the playlist.
If that's right, I really can't figure out why it is loading more tracks at the moment it starts playing (while there is 27 in the playlist)...

Just curious about your Music Categories and whether you have enough songs to fulfill your rotation rules as  Cat 4 has 316 audio files (which is good for a category) while Cat 5 only has one?  and Cat 1 has only 6 tracks and you have your station rotation format containing and loading 27 audio elements before it's repeated. If this is correct then if Cat 5 only has one track that you've asked to be loaded twice in a row, plus Cat 6 with only  6 tracks in the category.. it doesn't seem to be enough songs to do proper rotation rules.   There is enough for Cat 4 as their are at least 316 songs to work with but Cat 5 and Cat 1 the rules are used up after the first load as it seems there are to few songs in those categories.   Unless I'm missing something, which usually is the case.

Hi,
"Cat 5" contains only one track because we are in "sandbox" mode before deployment of RDJ in studios and we don't need this subcategory for the tests.
From "cat 1" to "cat 3", the number of tracks is computed to have a specific number of airplay of each track per day.
This rotation rule is used several hours per day since 5 years without any problem ;)
(we are using Direttore for now and wish to switch for RDJ that is more reliable, powerful and flexible)

Thanks

tnz75

Hum.... just to be sure to be well understood...
It do not take 50 elements to fill the 27 of the rotation,
it actually insert 50 elements in the playlist (instead of 27).

Hi everyone,

1- I have made a new test.
I created a very simple test rotation containing 10 tracks from the cat 4 and with rules unchecked.

When I clear the playlist, 10 tracks are inserted in the playlist (that's what we want)
and since I press play, the playlist contains 19 tracks !

So, it seams that rotations are inserted twice, isn't it ?

2- Another test I have made is to delete tracks from the playlist...
Since there is less than 10 tracks in the playlist, another rotation is picked up.
In the manual they said 3 tracks (and that seam more logical) !

3- We can't play streams anymore !
It was working in previous version of RDJ :(

Do you know how to ask to Marius is opinion about this ?

Marius

I'm here don't worry.  :)

1.  I think that every dj want's to see what music will play next when in automated mode, so internally if the playlist contains less tracks that the rotation items, a new rotation is added at the end of the current playlist.

2. That was in the old versions.

3. In what format are the streams? If they are in aac format, due licensing terms i removed that plugin. Please read this topic: http://www.radiodj.ro/community/index.php?topic=5386.msg31487#msg31487

Thank you so much for your help Marius  :)

So, for 1 & 2, I will open a feature request soon  ;)

Internet stream is MP3, icecast mount point.
I found the problem, that's a DNS resolution error.
If I put the server IP it works :)

Just to be sure, "Reset subcategories" option means that if a subcat can't fit the rules, a track will be chosen anyway instead of having this subcat skipped, right ?

A problem is still present, some tracks don't load the associated sweeper.
Intro point is shown as 00:00 in the playlist and in the track manager
(I suppose that's why the sweeper is skipped)
but the intro point is clearly defined in the cue editor (and of course is not 0) !

I also checked in the DB and the point is defined and not 0.

Hum.... I'm in doubt....
Can you please tell me what should happen if the intro is shorter than the sweeper ?
Skipped ?
Played from start point ?
Played from the previous track ?

Edit: Answer is ... skipped, that's the normal behavior and the source of my problem  :'(
