[Solved] Can't seem to get 1.8.2 to work

For some odd reason RDJ 1.8.2 doesn't work on my XP pc.
I've tried to upgrade from 1.8.1 to 1.8.2 , and tried various methods but windows keeps giving me an error (RDJ has encountered a problem and needs to close). RDJ 1.8.1 and all previous versions work fine; no problems at all.
On my laptop with Win7 on it, RDJ 1.8.2 also runs like a charm!
Please tell me if someone has an idea of how to fix this.
The pc in question is an XP Pro SP3 with .Net framework 4 on it. According to specifications it should work.
With a clean install I get the same error. Even the database setup won't start

Can you post details of any .NET error messages were working blind otherwise.

Are there any errors in Event Viewer? If so what do they say

Control Panel>Administrative tools> Event viewer

It might also be worth giving the Database/tables a quick repair with a program like HeidiSQL

See attachment for error message I get from eventviewer. Googled this message, it seems that my system needs an essential  update, wich is possible, this machine almost never had an update. Unforunately, updates for XP are no longer available from Microsoft. Looks like I have to upgrade to a newer OS.

Tried to update manually; that didn't work. Switched on "automatic updates", and the computer has just begun to install 147 updates! How strange is that!
I'll keep you informed; if this solves the problem.

Glad you got there in the end .... Next time you will know what the issue is.... an upgrade to a new OS would probably be better in the long run though!
