Hi All,

I am not getting the rotation working on RadioDJ v1.8.2.0

I am not using event to control rotation and AutoDJ yet.

Here are the steps I took without much success:

1. Start RadioDJ in admin mode.
2. Disable AUTODJ button on Playlist plugin view
3. Disable AUTOMATED button on Playlist plugin view
4. Import M3U Playlist from the Playlist plugin
5. Tracks are now showing up in Song Search plugin (filter: Any Category, Any Subcategory, Any genre)
6. Open Track Rotations under OPTIONS,select Track From Categroy
7. Add 10 rotation rules MUSIC-2000s-Any Genre-Least Recently Played-WITHOUT-Repeat Rules (checked)
8. Save the rotation and give a name.
9. Go back to main view, select the newly named rotation next to the date (upper right corner).
10. Turn on AutoDJ and Automated in the Playlist plugin view.

The expectation here is that AutoDJ will look for the rules in the current rotation and start to schedule the tracks imported from the playlist.

It does not work that way for some reason, what is missing?

please advise!
Thank you

Ok I found my problem.

During the importation of the tracks from the MU3 playlist the tracks are not tagged as MUSIC-2000s-Any Genre, thus preventing the rotation to work.

I did a "Move Track" to the category to match my rotation setting Music-2000s.

It works now!

Hi 79rmp,

Welcome to RadioDJ community.

I'm glad to see that you solved the issue while I was writing my response. I'm slow, I know. :)
Here it goes, anyway:

IIRIC, RadioDJ does not assign a subcategory if tracks are imported using a playlist, which results in tracks being outside any categories. Try "[Uncategorised]" from category dropdown in search or tracks manager and your tracks should be listed there. These tracks can't be picked by rotations.

To fix that, open tracks manager and assign categories to tracks. To make it easier, select as many tracks as you want to move/assign, go to File > Move Tracks, select category (Music) and subcategory (2000s) and click "Move Tracks" below select dropdowns. Now Auto DJ should be able to pick tracks using defined rotation rules.
