How can I save all my songs in the database?

I would like to save all my songs I have in the database in a file that can be either a *.doc or a *.pdf. How can I do it?

it is possible with a great tool called HeidiSQL (comes with MariaDB http://www.heidisql.com/) and Libre Office https://www.libreoffice.org/.

I made it like this:

• Open the database with HeidiSQL
• Select the table songs / select data tab
• You can now select columns to show and also limit the number to show
• Now: Tools -> export grid rows - choose csv or html
• Open the file in Libre Office
• Export the file as .pdf

Hey Plauri,

i assumed you have a running MariaDB  with a RadioDJ database up and running. If you have a complete SQL dump of your RadioDJ database
as a SQL file with all data you should be able to restore your database from that file.

But be careful ... depending on your export options this might destroy your vital data.

AFAIK there is no way to "open" the database files (MYD,MYI,frm) these are binaries.

Yes I have it running. But I really don't understand how to do what you suggest. I do database backup on a regular base, but that's all. I'm a bit lost into it.

@Jhonny: same as before. I have looked for csv exporter, I have found it, but don't know how to do it.

@Marius: Can't you add an option in a new Radiodj release which includes a way to save all or part of your songs in an easy way? Thanks

plauri, the easiest is as Johnny suggests.  First you must move (or copy) the "Plugin_Exporter.dll and Plugin_Exporter.xml" files from the "Plugin CSV Exporter Folder" inside the "Disabled Plugins Folder" to the "Plugins Folder".  Now restart RadioDJ.

After the restart click on "Options" then "PlugIns".  In the list of Plugins find "CSV Exporter" click on it to highlight it and then click on "Show".  This will open the exporter for you to select what to export.  Just set a path and file name for the file location. Check the fields you want and click "EXPORT".  Once completed, you can open the file in your favorite spreadsheet program and manipulate the data as you see fit and print the results.

If you have a Large Music File and/or a slow machine, this export could take quite some time.  The exporter ties up RadioDJ so you will not have access to change things.  I have never had it stop playing if set to "AUTODJ" during the export.  To avoid this you could start another instance of RadioDJ for your export session and still have access to your running RadioDJ.  Good Luck.

plauri, The Path Field cannot be unchecked as Exporter needs it to find the information, but once you have the CSV File you can open it up in your spreadsheet program and delete that column.  While it is open in the spreadsheet you can also sort the records anyway you want, by Genre, Year, Artist Name, Category, Subcategory, etc.

Well it's not exactly like this: once I have deleted the first column I have the second column with artist name, but if all the artists would be of one world and the title song the same, it would be ok (only two total column). Example: Prince - Kiss. Unfortunately we have: "The Detroit Spinners - Working My Way Back To You", I get 9 columns for this record, you can imagine it's impossible to order them

I think you have imported the csv-file with wrong separation options. I suggest you used "spaces". Take "decimal point" and it will work.
"Decimal point" is the option importing this csv-file into LibreOffice. And it works perfect!

When importing the csv file into the spreadsheet, you must use the comma as the separator (Comma Separated Value) .  After the import then you can delete any columns or rows that you want.  To sort the data, highlight the rows you want sorted and highlight all columns with data in them.  Find the sort function in your software and have it sort by the column you want.  The thing is ALL data has to be highlighted for the sort feature to work and keep all of data in its proper row.

Yes, the Comma was the answer. I selected it in the spreadsheet and it worked like I wanted. It was simple, of course once you know it
