VT intro after previous Outro in playlist

If I create a playlist with a VT playing at the END of one song followed by a second song with VT playing at the START or INTRO, the second song VT does not play.

Is this to be expected and/or is there a workaround?

Okay, I have discovered a fix. By adding an empty track about 1 second long & inserting it in between the 2 tracks, both of the VTs play as expected.
