"relocate tracks" will NOT see my external hard drive Windows 10

Strange problem with the machine I've just installed Windows 10 on  :bash:

The program has installed correctly, I've restored a database backup but for some unknown reason "relocate tracks" will NOT see the external hard drive(s) even though Windows is seeing them.

It's there it's accessible but RadioDJ just doesn't see the drive even track/directory import isn't seeing it. RadioDJ works OK on the other W10 box it sees the external hard drives on that..

Anyone else come across this problem? IF so How did you fix it? For once I'm stumped.  ???

Yes I've ran as administrator as usual.

Marius

That's indeed strange. I'm also using windows 10 and here using browse button it displays all drives, even the network ones.
I'm not even sure how to try to replicate this scenario.

Windows 10 is being rather strange .... I can't seem to find a solution even via Google.

Every post I see talks about drive management but that's not the problem.

Just noticed after I'd posted that Windows is forcing the folders read only (even after I've unchecked and clicked apply) and I can't for the life of me remember how we fixed that on Windows 7

I'm missing something somewhere and really can't figure out what's' gone awry... Upgrading is a pain in the butt at times. I will get there.

Decided to copy music folders off the hard drive into the music folder.... It's only for testing anyway so it's no biggie if Windows 10 doesn't want to see my external hard drive inside programs ...

I use Unlocker to fix that...

This one, IObit Unlocker is basically the same thing, but geared to the newer OS's like Windows 10.

Hmmm keep getting a harmful software detected when I visit the first link.....

Will try with teh second one if all else fails I'll just live with music files on the same drive. Although somethings not right somewhere i keep getting dragging distorted audio...

IF i remember rightly I had the same rigamarole when I upgraded to Win 7. I will fix it if it kills me.

That hasn't done the trick. I've shut the Windows 10 box down for the day before I take a sledgehammer to the thing.... :bash:

Same configuration as the other W10 machine and nothing's working as it should. Stupid Windows, It's not liking any of the virtual audio cables either... Grrrrr!

ghm72

Beginning to think it's a driver issue somewhere along the lines .... I will nail it

Going to reinstall from scratch tomorrow... It's just reminded me of why Windows can be a pain in the rear end at times.

Yes, I had an issue with Voicemeeter Banana last month when after a restart Win10 wouldn't remember my audio settings and went with the Realtek (Which I've always had disabled), go figure.   It kept doing that until another MS Windows 10 patch a week later and now all is good.   Don't much like the way Windows updates things.

Crossing fingers for you.

I was experiencing scratchy audio using VMB still had that problem when I switched to VAC.4.14

Windows 10 hasn't come on a great since I last had it installed its buggy to say the least...

Got my Techmonkey doing a fresh install later I think i missed something somewhere as per  :bash: :bash:

If I don't get a solution to this issue I'm going to cry  :hihi:

In Windows 10 some sound-related things have been changed and third-party developers may not be up to speed with those "improvements".

As for your original issue, I can confirm that my RadioDJ can see all external and mapped network drives.
I am, therefore I think.
I design and develop web apps, and have created few RadioDJ plugins - https://axellence.lv/downloads/

When I previewed Windows 10 on developer release it was showing all drives.... Something's changed so I've gone for a fresh install again. Going to make sure ALL drivers are updated properly before I install software.

ghm72

Scrap that I've decided it was too much like hard work going back to linux on that machine. It was worth a try just having major headaches with drivers not updating properly. SATA drives not being recognised etc ... :bash: :bash:

I'll just have to test software on the windows 10 box we know does actually work.

ghm72

So after a Windows update the drives are now appearing as "Network drives"  :bash:

All rather strange but at least now its seeing the tracks , So its appeared a Windoze issue rather than a RadioDJ one again. I knew it wasn't RadioDJ at fault!
