Here's the problem.  Let's say you have 10 songs in a top 10 category...and you want one song to play every hour.  With an external scheduler, you can prioritize how to fill out the whole weeks playlist.  I can say fill out the top-10 first, then fill out the next category, then the next.  I will get a true 10 hour rotation.  With RDJ, it will grab something out to the top 10 as needed.  The problem comes when it's time for singer A to be played, but RDJ just played that artist 10 minutes ago.  If I have a 1 hr limit on repeating artists, I have to wait 50 minutes.  50 minutes later I can now play singer A out of the top 10 category...but only if another category didn't beat me to the same artist and now I have to wait again.  I can't get a true 10 hour rotation.  That's why I used an external scheduler.

Importing the external playlist isn't a problem, it works very well....just not trying to get the sweepers to play.

That depends on how RadioDJ is loading track from the Top 10 category and if you want the tracks played in their Top 10 order.
It might be possible to use SQL query to do whet you want, but it would not use the Top 10 order, because repeat rules would skip played tracks and artists that have been played recently.
However, if you are okay with getting any track from the Top 10 category, I can write an SQL query for that.
I am, therefore I think.

Say if you used events to load a top 10 playlist. Couldn't u add an argument to ignore repeat rules? I think that could be really useful.

I think that's not what OP wants, but repeat rules can be modified or removed entirely when using SQL queries.
