Add a new track type?

Is it possible to add a new track type? I need this as none of the current ones fit my needs.

Last time this same question was asked few weeks ago I found a solution by using data that is already available.
You assume that new track type is the only solution without explaining your needs or intentions, but there might be another way.

I said its not a big deal. I will just use the track type "other". I just wanted to see if that was possible. now I know and will be able to tell the next person.

Funny enough... now that you linked the post I remembered reading it before.
