Hi everyone and thanks for reading. To the admins, im sorry if i have posted in the wrong area of the forum. Please feel free to move the post & kick me up the a*se.

Ok so going wayyyyyyy back, i first downloaded version 0.1.3704 on an old XP pc, and i have used this same version ever since! I only use the program when there is no live DJ's on the station, and it's mostly used to play any adverts on the hour ect ect, so i have never seen the need to upgrade to a newer version as it works perfectly for what i use it for.

Some years later, i upgraded to a Windows 7 pc and installed the same saved files onto that pc without a problem. It too has run for many years without an issue.

Two days ago, the Windows 7 pc passed on to pc heaven. So...i had a spare pc in the loft, which i had put a fresh install of XP home edition put onto it before it was put away (32bit) (i know i know old school), and then i used the exact same files i have kept for all these years to install onto that pc. I installed MySQL version 5.1. MySQL installed fine & the service is running without issue.

Then i tryed to re-install Radiodj 0.1.3704, and everything went ok (or seemed too) untill i came to the last screen. I checked ''run database wizard'', and as soon as i hit return, i get the following error - see image. I looked into the files that were installed with Radiodj to see if i could find the database.exe file and tryed to launch the database screen that way. I get the same error.

So i decided to take a look on the net to see if there was any answers. I found a post where somebody had said that in the files of Radiodj there would be a folder called ''Set Up'' and inside here would be a .exe file for the database. I looked in the files, but could not see a ''Set Up'' folder. I guessed Radiodj has come a long way since the version i have got, so i decided to download the latest version here on the site to see if that would work better.

Ive now downloaded version v1.8.2 and i have kept the original MySQL.

When trying to install the new version of Radiodj, you guessed it, i get the same error as i did before. I did take a look into the folders on this newest version, and i have found the ''Set Up'' folder which has the database set up.exe file inside, as described in the post a mentioned, and the same error comes up if i try to run the database from there too.

I just cant seem to reach the database screen where i need to input the password ect.

I hope this all makes sence? Not sure what i am doing wrong, but if anybody could possibly help i would be more than greatfull. Thanks so much in advance :)

This forum section is not the right one for version 0.1.3704, but since you are facing same issue with RadioDJ 1.8.2.0, it should be okay.

The answer might be simpler than you think; You have to install .Net Framework 3.5. You can get .Net Framework 3.5 installer from Microsoft.

Please not that RadioDJ database structure has changed dramatically. It will not be possible to use your existing database with current RadioDJ version and there is no utility for updating database from really old versions.

Hi Valdis thanks so much for your quick reply. Valdis you were correct sir! I was just about to post back on here, and i saw your reply. It was indeed the .Net Framework.

I only realised this was missing just after i wrote my post. I checked to see what was running (i should have done that first i guess) and realised that there was no .Net Framework installed. All working again now,and as i get to have a play about with the new version of Radiodj, and damn fine it looks too :) Thanks so much for your reply :)

Admins please delete thread or move it to another area of the forum if you think it may help others.

This topic would help others if they could find it when searching the error message text. Topic title should describe the issue and post contents should contain the actual error message text. Computers are not good with text in images and forum search will not provide any results for someone searching the error message.

I'll add some text to help find this topic: The error message says "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application."
The error is caused by missing .Net Framework and RadioDJ needs .Net Framework 3.5.

Solution: Install .Net Framework 3.5.
