Do you know a sotfware like mp3tag but one that get the mp3 filename then insert it to a textfile then i can get this textfile to insert back inside this mp3file (MP3TAG can do this last part but not the first one)

Why do i want it?

See the image below:

Ok, you see its billboards top50 of the decade.

I want to get the position and insert it into mp3's comment tag.

Theres a easier way to do it? or do you know a software that can do it?

Manually itll be very exaustive, maybe theres a way to make it be faster and maybe in lot.

Thank you.

AFAIK the free program 'Tagscanner' can do what you want.
Ask Google for 'Tagscanner' to get a link for download.
I'm using this program now for several years instead of 'MP3tag'.

I just started the program and tested it.
There is a menu for exporting a list. There you can choose a ready script, or you can write your own script, what you want to export.
For import you have to choose the menu 'Generate' and there the point 'Import tags from a text file'. In 'Tagscanner' a text file can also be a csv-file (comma separated list).

Tag & Rename will do what you want

If the file names have the position in them (001,002, etc) you can just run the "Get Tags From File Name" feature and it will rewrite all the tags. You can even specify what variables you want in the tag

Im going to take a look, actually i think i already have this tagscanner here...

You dont understant, i actually pratically do not use mp3 tag only a feel times to clean tags to use the software i really use to tag my songs, picard music brainz.

Picard Music Brainz is the best one to tag songs for radio, it gets name, year everything online, but sometimes it gets lots of versions of different release years, then u have to manually take a look if you really want to be sure it the real original year.

Thank you fro the tip, im gonna try tagscanner to do it.

Actually, i just found it in MP3tag  Can you believe it?  :D
I have been breaking my head this morning trying to learn how Tag renamer works  :bash: .

Then i came back to Mp3Tag and tried to find way to edit and export, then i found in the menu "convert", its easy!

Insert the file(s).
Then right click on it.
Then hover menu iten "Convert" .
Then click on filename - tag.

Itll be like this:

Then just insert tag comment to be relative to the first item before the first "-".

Then the final part to get only a part of filename into the comment tag:
Note that the filename needs to have (in this case) three parts separated by a "-". Use this information as you want.

Right click on the file(s).
Choose convert, thenoption "Tag - Tag".

Then rename the second section, with the %TagThatYouWant% and write anything else, of course, if you want it,  before %tag% or after.
Im my case, i wante to change the COMMENT tag.
Then the first section (in photo: _COMMENT) refers to the field.
The second section: (%comment%) refers to current comment tag. the rest is what i wrote to remember me that its billboard position for that year hot 100 chart. I want it in this tag, its easier to do it this wat, better than writing each song at a time  :bash: :D :D .

Then Click OK.

THEN ITS READY!

The next time you do it, this settings will be configured.

Now save your configuration into a file, so if you format your computer, or uninstall mp3tag, the next time you install it, this settings will be there waiting for you.

Chose where you will sabe it, i recommend you to save it where cant be formated.
